Four convivial and festive races
On Sunday, April 6th, 2008 the Local Committee of Organization organizes four races:
- A "Families race": we would like to associate the public to this event by organizing a "Families race" which is due to be ludic. That way, children and parents will both make an individual effort before finishing the race together. This event aims at creating an intergenerational relation that will delight the whole family.
- An "Adjusted Sport" race: the Athletism Haute Normandie League and the Sport University Department (called STAPS) want to enable a relationship between a fit student and a disabled person to run that race. To make that race possible, we have the support of two French Federations: Handisport and Sport Adapté (Adjusted Sport).
- The "Partner Challenge": the partners too have the place of honour of that Cross country since a race is dedicated to them just before the Championship opening ceremony. We would like to set up this project in co-operation with the Federation du Sport en Entreprise (the Enterprise Sport Federation).
- The "Champions race": the Local Committee of Organization have the will to gather people. That is why it whises all the sportsmen and women of the most famous clubs in the region (ice hockey, base-ball, judo, gymnastics, football, handball, etc),to get involved in this event.
All the races will be run on courses appropriate to the public but they will run on part of the University World Championships course.
